Cordy Tindell "C. T." Vivian (July 30, 1924[1] – July 17, 2020) was an American minister and author. He was a close friend and lieutenant of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. Vivian founded the C. T. Vivian Leadership Institute, Inc. Rev. Vivian was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.[2]
On August 8, 2013, President Barack Obama named Rev. Vivian as a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Vivian died on July 17, 2020 in Atlanta at the age of 95.[3]
